Location, location, location. The Angel on the Bridge has it in spades. Nestled on the bank of the river Thames, next to the bridge, you can't get a better location for supping a pint and watching the water traffic go by. The reasonably sized terrace has lots of picnic tables and, more importantly, some huge umbrellas to keep the rain off. Alternatively totally packed or under water in the glorious British summer this is one part of Henley that you really do need to visit. The food is harmless. It's not going to win any awards, but it won't kill you either. Be prepared for quite a wait during busy periods. Drinks are server in plastic glasses - to prevent chavs and other half-wits lobbing them into the river. Courtesy of the location, this is the most expensive pub in Henley to drink in and, sadly, the quality of the ales can be somewhat lacking. Expect also to be paying fifteen quid for a jug of Pimms. Food pricing is also steep bearing in mind how basic it is. All-in-all, if you can afford it, then it's a nice place to read the weekend papers, get a tan and watch the boats and/or tourists.
