Yes it was wrong for this hotel to refuse him entry.. HOWEVER. theres a holiday inn round the corner. if he had a car.. he should have got in it.. and drove to it! To everyone saying they shouldnt use this hotel this hotel doesnt normally refuse Military. The reason for the hotel refusing soldiers and squaddies is because they trash the place and do other things against the hotel. therefore, they have every right the refuse who they want.
We need more actions like that to say loudly to our soldier-boys - YOU ARE NOT OUR HEROS killing innocent Afghani children & women.
I am a serving member in the US Armed forces in the UK and to hear that a brother in arms has been refused entry to a hotel based on his status as a member of HM Forces is an absolute disgrace. I will NEVER use this company for ANYTHING at ANYTIME.
Lots of comments being made about 'not allowing Service men to stay in their hotel' with no understanding of the historical stand point that has lead to this. Lots of organisations around the Woking/Camberley Aldershot area have a blanket ban on Military personnel (often requested by the Military) due to fighting, damage to property and anti social behaviour. Our boys do a great job when they are called upon (and I'm sure I'll be called many things for playing devils advocate and trying to give some kind of realism to this) but in a lot of cases the current crop will pay for the sins on their predecessors. If he'd been refused a room based on the fact that he worked for a band that had a history of smashing up hotel rooms we'd all say fair enough. Sadly it is the same thing. I am sure he is a reasonable person that would have been no trouble but he is (wrongly) tared with the brush of other trouble makers, and this company was just protecting their investment.
Totally agree with previous comments, avoid this company like the plaque. Notice also thier website is tottaly blank so you can't actually find out which businesses are part of the organisation! They've got a good right to hide.
In the statement by this obscene company that they refuse entry to our armed forces serving personnel, they prove what a morally bankrupt company they are. I would urge all to resist their application for gaming and drinks licences at the next magistrates sessions!
These people refuse to allow our Armed Services personnel to stay at their hotels. In return, each and every patriotic British person should avoid useing any o American Amusements businesses.
